Basement Designs - Like Retro? Check Out These Basement Designs
Are you thinking about updating your basement? Been exploring different basement designs? Think about going retro. You can turn your basement into a great place to hang out for the entire family... even if your basement is a dark, dingy sort of place where spiders live right now. It doesn't matter what your budget is. In all likelihood, you'll be able to come up with exactly what you need to create the perfect retro haven in your basement.
Add Some Great Lighting
Of course lighting for the basement is going to be important if you want to go through with the retro design. Go wild with the lighting: Add some nice lava lamps to enhance that retro theme. Consider installing a disco ball. As light sources go, you can't get much more retro than that. Just be sure you install lots of bright lights, because basements have a tendency to be very dark.
Go with Retro Window Coverings
Now if your basement has windows of any kind, you want to be sure to come up with retro window coverings to go along with your basement designs. Look around and you are sure to find plenty of patterns that will go great with a retro theme. You could always purchase the curtains, but if you're creative and know how to sew (or you're willing to learn), you could buy the materials and make the curtains yourself.
Look for Pieces to Pull it Together
So now you have the lights and the curtains, but you're not done yet. You still need a little something extra to help pull everything together. Consider throwing in some retro pillows, wall art, and similarly retro decorations that will emphasize your chosen theme throughout the whole basement.
A retro theme in your basement can definitely be a fun theme to incorporate. So, if you have been looking for the perfect basement designs, consider using a retro theme to spice things up.
